Sean Kingston Publishing is delighted to announce a major forthcoming series marking the occasion of the 400th anniversary of Matteo Ricci's death in 1610.

The Jesuit Matteo Ricci was a hugely important figure in both Western and Chinese intellectual history. Charged with the mission to China in 1583, he was the first to translate the Confucian classics into a Western language, Latin ("Confucius" was Ricci's own Latinisation). He also made many notable publications in Chinese, including his translation on the works of Euclid. He was the first Westerner to be invited into the Forbidden City, and on his death was venerated by the then Chinese emperor.

It is intended that the series include translations from Italian, Latin and Chinese of the following:
